CHAPTER TWO
The conspiracy delivers its weapon disguised as comfort: Hayt, a ghola grown in an axlotl tank — the returned flesh of Duncan Idaho, swordmaster, friend, dead at Paul's side. He arrives remembering nothing. Or everything.

CHAPTER THREE
In Otheym's house the trap springs: a stone burner — atomics outlawed by the Great Convention — and the Emperor's eyes are burned from his face. Yet Paul still sees. He walks the oracular path, reading a future memory more exact than sight.

CHAPTER FOUR
Chani dies bearing twins — Leto and Ghanima — and with her dies the last thing the prophecy needed Paul to be. Fremen law is merciless and clean: the blind are given to Shai-Hulud. At dawn, Paul Atreides walks into the erg alone, unled.
